Dr Nicholas Poirier

A 2005 graduate of the University of Montreal’s Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Nicholas Poirier first practiced for six years in various clinics in Vaudreuil-Dorion and Montreal. In 2011, this Valleyfield native joined Drs. Daniel Lapointe and Alain Castagner, owners of a clinic since 1974, to create the Clinique Poirier Centre dentaire. Originally located at 412 Boulevard du Havre in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, the clinic recently moved to Maden Street (182 Maden Street, Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, J6S 3V6, Quebec) in order to continue offering the highest quality services to the people of the Suroît region.

Always on the lookout for the latest developments in dentistry, Dr. Poirier regularly attends training and continuing education courses, as well as renowned dental conferences and conventions, such as the Cerec Symposium celebrating 25 years of this new technology for manufacturing crowns and inlays in a single appointment. He is particularly interested in orthodontics, wisdom tooth extraction, and dental restorations (crowns and bridges), and has developed expertise in implantology through his various training programs. Dr. Poirier also cultivates social commitment through his dental practice. For example, during his last two years of study, he worked at the Clinique Dentaire des Jeunes de la rue at the CLSC des Faubourgs in downtown Montreal. There, he provided dental care to young people living on the streets so that they could maintain good oral health despite their difficult circumstances. In 2005, communities in need in Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras, benefited from his quality care while he was participating in a Dentists Without Borders mission. These experiences taught him the importance of treating every patient the same and taking the time to listen to each person's needs.
